coaching principles/client confidentiality
In a coaching relationship, we will focus on the present and future, teaming up to set and achieve desired goals. It's important to understand what a coaching relationship does and does not include. Many issues will come up and coaching can be the catalyst for other solutions to these issues. A coach does not solve issues or give advice, but a solution to one of your coaching issues may be to contact another health professional. Additionally, a coach does not focus on the past or the healing of deep emotional issues, but coaching may help clarify the need for a counselor/therapist as a step to reaching your goal.
In compliance with the ICF and BCC Code of Ethics, I will maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality with all client information, including electronic files and communication. I will not release any information to another person, unless authorized to do so by applicable legal requirements, client authorization or the written coaching agreement.
